Hello Fabulous
I wanted to introduce my brand new collection ‘Made With Love’ to you.
This collection is quite different from my others but still embraces the same values. It celebrates love, friendship, passion, fun and meaning. I have made the pieces colourful and comfortable so you wear them with a smile.
Each piece has a little story; they are influenced by body language. I started with lips. They are a beautiful shape, we use our lips for verbal speech but we use them for mouthing words, smiling, blowing kisses etc. These lips are slightly up in the corners to show the beginning of a smile, with the mouth a little open as though they are about to say or do something. I chose colours beyond pink and red as lipstick comes in all colours, so why not celebrate choice.
I mixed these lips with words, one of my favourite things. I wanted each word to represent something we do with someone we love / care about. This isn’t just about your life-partner but anyone who you share emotions with.
First I chose LOVE. A beautiful word that should always be celebrated.
The second is SMILE. This can say so much, it can be reassuring, conversational and a sign of pure joy.
Next was HUG. We hug to greet, we hug good bye, we hug to love and we hug to comfort and celebrate.
Lastly there was KISS. We blow kisses, kiss-Kiss cheeks, a long gentle kiss goodbye and wild passionate kisses.
While experimenting with my designs, I created a piece that was in that back of my mind for a long time. It was an image of the romantic kiss. I didn’t want it smutty or over the top but subtle yet expresses passion. Can you see it in this image? It’s two kissing lips.
All these pieces have been photographed on embossed lined backing paper to echo the lines of lips.
I do care, so don’t be put off. This is a ‘green’ collection. The charms have been made with a combination of scrap plastics and recycled acrylic. Each piece has been designed to minimalise wastage and maximise design.
