Hello Fabulous
It’s PRIDE month so let’s make some Pride earrings. You don’t have to spend a lot of money, you can use things from around the house.

Go to your junk box. Let’s face it, we all have one. It’s full of those bits and pieces that must have a purpose, they just need to find one.

Curtain hoops make great jewellery.

Take some ribbon and cut it on to 15cm lengths (longer, if you want to be really dramatic and flowing). If you don’t have lots of coloured ribbons, you can colour in white ribbon, use fabric, wool etc. Those annoying ribbon loops that you find inside of clothes would be great for these earrings.

Tie each ribbon on the the ring, one at a time, makeing sure each ribbon is tied with two knots to secure in place.

Knudge / wiggle each ribbon into place. You don’t have to have them at the bottom; you could have them to the side or spread out. It’s up to you.

Repeat the steps on the second curtain hoop. Of course you could have two different earrings and just match colours / themes.

Now it’s time to add the earwire. You could take them off old or broken jewellery or buy them if you wish to. MAKE SURE you open the earwire to the side and DON’T pull open. If you pull it out, it will snap. I find the best way is to hold the earwire flat in one hand and lift the link open using pliers. Place the curtain hoop on the earwire and push the open link closed.

Done. If you are worried the ribbon will fray, you can tie a knot in the botton to give texture or put a tiny dab of glue on the ends. PVA is perfect for this.

There are so many design options. Here I made a big bow out of rainbow ribbon. You could go wild and make a MASSIVE bow with cascading tails. I like to cut the tails in to a piont to finish off the look. You could paint the hoops, wrap them, diamonte them. You can make earrings, necklaces, bracelts, anklets, hair decorations, home accents.
Let your creative juices flow and have fun.
